Hello! I am Laurie Bevan, and I am one of those lucky people whose passion is also their profession. I am a quilt designer, author, editor, and quilt retreat house owner. I began quilting in 1992 and haven't stopped since. I have a fabulous network of quilting friends who have encouraged and supported me every step of the way.

I was a major contributor to the book Triangle Tricks (Martingale & Company, 2003) and am very proud of its success. My first book Lickety-Split Quilts (also Martingale & Company) was published in 2004, and my second book, Lickety-Split Quilts for Little Ones was released in September 2007. It's very gratifying to see my design ideas come to life in a book so I can share them with you.

I live on beautiful Hood Canal in Western Washingon State with my husband Mike. Our son Allan is a financial advisor with Waddell and Reed and lives a ferry ride away. Our daughter Leigh is in the US Army, currently stationed in Texas. I spend many happy hours designing and sewing and sometimes reading or knitting, with time for the occasional romantic comedy movie too. I recently moved my studio to Poulsbo, and it is a perfect, peaceful place to think and dream.
